Governing Board
This committee establishes and maintains short- and long-term goals and procedures and policies for the church.
Spiritual Development Committee
Spiritual Development is a lifetime endeavor at First Parish. As Unitarian Universalists, we recognize that each of us is on a spiritual journey that begins when we are very young and continues throughout our lives. Our programs honor the many ages and stages of our spirituality as we grow.
The programs we offer are diverse yet have a common thread. Spiritual Development guides us in our search for truth and meaning and in our hopes to create a better world. We will find them in the tender loving care we give our youngest in the nursery, in the discussions and learning in our children’s groups, in the bonds of friendship and the commitment to social action in our youth, and in the creation of a community of seekers and healers in our adult programs.

Worship & Music Committee
The Worship and Music Committee at First Parish Plymouth works to nurture meaningful, engaging, and spiritually rich worship experiences for our congregation. We collaborate with the minister, staff, directors of Music and Spiritual Development, and lay leaders to help plan and support weekly services, special observances, and seasonal celebrations that reflect our Unitarian Universalist values and honor the diverse spiritual paths of our community.
Through thoughtful worship planning and the cultivation of vibrant music programs, we seek to inspire reflection, connection, and joy. Whether through spoken word, ritual, silence, or song, the Worship and Music Committee helps create spaces where all are welcome to deepen their spiritual lives and experience the power of shared worship. We seek to encourage all members of the First Parish community to participate in presenting a welcoming and meaningful worship experience.

The Social Action Committee at First Parish strives to fight for social justice on a local, state, and national level and
endeavors to provide truthful information on a wide variety of relevant issues. We regularly publicize and provide social
justice-oriented opportunities that encourage church members, friends, and the local community to become actively

Building & Grounds Committee
The Buildings and Grounds Committee is responsible for the physical condition and well-being of the Parish House, as well as assisting in managing our tenants.
We try to be proactive in anticipating future issues with the physical structure of the Parish House and bringing them to the attention of the Governing Board, while also responding to immediate issues and concerns that arise in the daily life of the building.
These include windows, heat, air conditioning, storage, doors, locks, keys, hot water, gutters, roofs, siding, roadways, parking lot, snow plowing and removal, sanding, etc.

Outreach and Public Relations Committee
The Outreach and PR Committee aims to broaden the exposure of First Parish by using different social media platforms, as well as showing up for community events. The committee seeks to connect with the congregation and the surrounding community while upholding the church's values.
Help Team
In an effort to live out our commitment to "Help One Another," the Help team coordinates the congregation's response to members experiencing an illness or crisis. The help offered depends on the needs of the member but frequently involves social visits, meals delivered, errands run, or rides given.
Finance Committee
The Finance Committee strives to ensure responsible handling of our congregational finances. The committee coordinates the annual pledge drive, works with the Governing Board to develop an annual budget to present to the congregation for approval, regularly monitors the financial reports to ensure we are staying within our budget goals, and communicates with the congregation about the community's financial situation.
The Media and Technology Committee
The committee strives to keep First Parish up with the times in terms of technology and is responsible for live streaming and posting of services and events. We are committed to the research, recommendation, and implementation of needed technologies throughout the building while keeping an eye on budget and need. We also will support all the other committees in their media needs, which includes media management of photos and documents on a shared server and tech-support back up for things like movie nights, Zoom meetings, etc.
