One Sunday in January, during coffee hour, I sat down with my friend Valerie, who proceeded to say, “Things are just awful in America - just awful. What is one supposed to do?” At the moment, I was struggling with the same question. It’s interesting how, once we put a question out to the Universe, we begin to see hints and clues that lead us to an answer. This Sunday’s service, I’ll be sharing my journey of standing in our UU shared value, Keeping Love at The Center, and coming to my own conclusion of “what is there to do, when you don’t know what to do.”

In these troubling times when our world seems unrecognizable, perhaps we need a reminder that there is more good in the world than bad. Perhaps we need a reminder that within each of us lives the opportunity to choose love over hate, to embrace love and to "use the love" to create a world that reflects the vision of peace and justice that we so desire. We are not alone. |
